(and then a bunch of folders searching for mono and ink)

It means one of the folders in the path to where you unzipped the game has non-english characters. Make sure to remove all spaces and non-english characters from all the folders in the path.

A really well game! Have enjoyed messaging with people and getting Retribution ending! Thanks for this experience!

By the way:
It has also not worked by me at first, and I have tried your hint with Unreal Prerequisites. Still it has not helped. What has helped, is to name the Folder without spaces and with english alphabet (I have a "New Folder" but on another language before that) and than IT WORKS! :-)

Thanks! For nice feedback and troubleshooting!

Really great sounds to create the chilling atmosphere! the story was easy to follow :)

Unfortunately, it is not possible to play because of some dll file error:

LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 70]
Failed to load assembly 'mscorlib.dll' searched in the following folders:

Wut? O-o. Maybe you're missing some unreal required libs? In the engine/extras/redist/en-us there is an installer for all the prerequisites unreal game would need. If that's not it then i'm confused :( sorry for the trouble :(

It's OK. I think the system is missing something.

I think i managed to reproduce your issue! I put a non-english character 'Ä…' in the folder name and got the same error as you did. So make sure that the whole path to the game does not have any spaces and no non-english characters

Thanks @Azkabal for tech tip!

I played by changing the game directory. I really liked the dialogues, although there were almost no scary moments. Overall, the chatting mechanics on the phone are cool.

Good job.

Thank you for not giving up on it :)
